Permanent Theme

Purpose is a permanent theme that affects every segment of life; the common link between any dimension of life; and an identifiable thread that weaves all parts of life.

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:14

Clear Soul Purpose?

Unless your soul purpose and soul passion are clear, you will be pulled and torn by human needs. Instead you stand in need of a supreme purpose that is wider than human needs. That purpose will call you to turn some of these human needs into service opportunities.

Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God Himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen. 1 Peter 4:11

Past, Present, Future

You shouldn't be too focused on what your past reveals, though for the foreseeable future you build your life on how the past has looked and on how the present is experienced.

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13

Personality Isn't Purpose

How your temperament is constituted or cultivated does not indicate your general purpose. Even if you are designed with a particular personality and have enjoyed success in specific situations, you could easily be "purposeless" or "purposeful."

Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The LORD has spoken! Isaiah 40:4-5

Talents Aren't Purpose

Discovery of talents and gifts will aid the discovery of personal purpose and unique vision, but they are not identical to the grand, great, general purpose of all human existence. We all know talented and gifted people who are directionless!

Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in Me. - The Bible (John 15:4)
